Default Garndmaster Cartographers should be able to map FoW etc.

Lightbringer, Treasure Hunter and a few other titles have a measurable effect on gameplay.

Why not let Cartography max titles serve a similar function by allowing players with that title to create permanent maps of Sorrow's Furnace, or FoW and so on?

Yes, we can press U and get the map anyway as we progress, but since that's the case, what's the point in making those maps a secret in M?

It's pointless.

So treat GM Cartographer titles as the trigger to unlock permanent mapping.

Maybe even letting GMCs trade map coverage by synching maps with other players.

Those areas are catacombs.
They are under the ground.

So thir maps would overlap with the ones over the ground.

It's a rule of the 'catacomb' type map: you'll lose any exploration made when you leave. You have to remember the area.
I like that for a change.

I agree wholeheartedly the Grandmaster Cartographer's need to have something as a reward. They are very hard titles to achieve.

I don't think that the mapping of FoW etc is a good idea...

Well in order to map these places how difficult would it be to have a secondary 'catacomb' map as a toggle between the world map?

GWEN looks like it's going to have what, 18 dungeons?

Are we not going to be able to map any of them?

I think we'll only be able to map some places outside the dungeons...
And not all underground places are unmaped... almost all Echovald is under a solid coat of stone branches.
They could add also the option to resurrrrection shrines to uncover for you part of the map, something like making for you a clearing around their area.

i agree it needs a benefit...

but showing FOW and UW is no real benefit... you can screen shot it when you get it all open as i did... not like that place is huge and confusing with 5 entrances....

I would love a benefit from it though... like getting a heads up on ur mini map where chests r or what bosses spawned or such...

/notsigned for map of FOW and UW... /signed for benefit of sometype though
